Craig Conway wants his loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion to be extended. The Scottish winger had been placed on loan to Brighton in September this year.
Conway’s tenure at the Falmer Stadium is about to end in a few weeks as he had been signed only for 3 months by the Seagulls. The game against Huddersfield which is going to be played on 21st of this month would be his last game for Brighton, but, he doesn’t want to return to his parent club Cardiff City. He wants to continue playing for Brighton.
Conway has featured for Brighton in a total of 9 Championship games so far and his performance in those games has been quite good. Although, he is yet to strike for the Seagulls since his arrival but, his speed and intensity on the pitch has really been impressive.
The reason why Conway wants to stay at the Falmer Stadium is that he is getting regular playing opportunities there.
Talking to the reporters yesterday, Conway said, “Here at Brighton, I am getting a lot of playing time and that’s what I was looking for. My form has been pretty good too. So, I wouldn’t mind staying here.”
However, despite the fact that Conway wants to stay at the Falmer Stadium, his loan spell can’t be extended straightaway as the loan window has recently been closed and it’s going to open next year only.
When asked about that, the Scotland international said, “I know if it has to happen, it will happen in January only and I am not thinking about that at the moment. I am focussing on my game and I hope that before leaving, I score a few goals for the team.”
Brighton’s next game is against Barnsley. That game will be played on Tuesday.
