HARPER MOVES BACK TO MALAGA

Jack Harper, former Real Madrid starlet, who had been with the Under-23 side of Brighton, has put pen to paper, thus signing a deal with La Liga side, Malaga.

The deal, which is to last for a period of two years, has seen the young man leave Championship leaders, Brighton.

Harper came to limelight, and lit up the social media after sending home a stunning solo strike during the pre-season. He was a regular for the Under 23 side of the Seagulls but hopes to break it through to first team football in no distant time.

The 20-year old who was born in Malaga to Scottish parents was reluctantly allowed to go by Brighton as Malaga beat off a number of rival Spanish suitors to get him sign a deal with them.

Speaking about Harper, Simon Rusk, the coach of Brighton’s Under 23s had said,

“Jack’s been a pleasure to work with, but despite his best efforts, he has struggled to break through into an extremely competitive first-team group.”

“This move back to Spain gives him the opportunity to reignite his career. I would like to thank Jack for his hard work and to wish him well for the future on behalf of everyone at our club.” He concluded.

Harper joined Real Madrid’s youth team at 13 years old where he worked his way through the system for the next six years, earning praise from Zinedine Zidane in the process.

However, following the disbandment of their C team in 2015, Harper made the decision to leave and joined the Championship leaders, Brighton where he struggled to break into their first team squad.

At international level, Harper had the chance to represent Spain, but elected to play for Scotland, where he features as a midfielder.
