Brighton and Hove Albion suffered their first defeat of the season in the Premier League (PL) in midweek and they would be looking to bounce back at the first time of asking when they take on Leicester City at home this weekend. The Seagulls were handed their first defeat of the season with the 2-1 loss at the home of newly promoted team Fulham.
Brighton began the new Premier League season in an impressive manner after the 2-1 away win over Manchester United. Dutchman Erik Ten Hag was stunned by the Seagulls in his first game as a Premier League manager at the Theatre of Dreams. German star Pascal Gross scored two goals for Brighton and Hove Albion in the first half of the game before the own goal from Argentine international Alexis Mac Allister pulled a goal back for Manchester United, but the Seagulls held on for an important win. The United game was followed by the home draw with Newcastle United.
The Seagulls made it seven points from the maximum nine points available with the 2-0 away win over West Ham United. Alexis Mac Allister (penalty) and Leandro Trossard were on target for Brighton and Hove Albion during the game. They were then responsible for the end to the unbeaten run at Leeds United thanks to the second half strike from Gross. The goal from Gross gave Brighton a 1-0 win at home to Leeds United.The four-match unbeaten start to the season was then ended courtesy the defeat at Fulham.
