The career of Tiago Lloris in Anfield is over as he completed a season long loan deal to Aston Villa and even though it’s only for a temporary period of time, it seems highly unlikely that the Portuguese defender would be making a return to Liverpool even after his loan contract with Aston Villa eventually reaches it’s inevitable end.
Tiago Lloris arrived to Anfield in 2013 for a price tag of £7M and was able to make 3 appearances to the main team as he came into the pitch from the bench.
Aston Villa and Liverpool reached an agreement that would allow Aston Villa of signing Tiago Lloris on a permanent deal depending on how the young defender performs in this season.
After completing the signing of Tiago Lloris, the manager of Aston Villa Tim Sherwood voiced his joy in adding the Portuguese defender into the team as Sherwood said: “I’m very pleased to bring Tiago into the football club. He’s someone I’ve been aware of for some time, and I’m looking forward to working with him. He’s a young guy I believe will enhance our group here.”
Aston Villa has the option of turning the loan deal of Tiago Lloris into a permanent one and if this does occur it will benefit all the parties involved. If Aston Villa does decide to sign Tiago Lloris, then Liverpool will break even and not lose the money that they had spent in adding the Portuguese into Anfield.
If Aston Villa does decide to permanently sign Tiago Lloris, the Portuguese defender will be in a club where his chances of getting into the main team are much higher compared to Liverpool where he could never really stand out and had to settle with a place on the reserves or simply being loaned out to other clubs.
